Quality Review

Purpose

The purpose of this service is to:

  • Provide the project team with assistance with the Quality Review procedure
  • Ensure a structured and organised approach to the examination of the project's products
  • Measure conformance to the specified business, user and specialist requirements

Method

WPM provides a Project Management Consultant to chair the Quality Review. This enables the Project Manager and project team members to participate fully and focus on the purpose of the Quality Review rather than on the format.

The Consultant undertakes the following:

Preparation

  • Provide assistance to the Project Manager with the arrangement of the Quality Review meeting
  • Help with the selection of reviewers
  • Check that all reviewers have been supplied with the necessary product descriptions and, if required, ensuring the product is available for review inspection
  • Check that acceptance criteria are clearly specified for each product

Quality Review

  • Chair the Quality Review meeting

Follow-up

  • Review and comment on the minutes of the Quality Review before publication
  • Review the records of the Quality Review before publication

Deliverables

  • An experienced Project Management Consultant for the duration of the service

Reporting & Reviewing

  • The Consultant reports to the Project Manager
  • Issue Quality Review meeting agenda and objectives to the nominated participants
  • Issue minutes of the Quality Review meeting to the participants

Assumptions

  • The Client provides a scribe for the Quality Review meeting to record the decisions and produce meeting minutes
  • The Client provides the meeting room with appropriate facilities for the Quality Review
  • The Consultant chairs the Quality Review meeting and does not participate as a product expert
  • The Quality Review meeting will last no more than 1 day

Acceptance Criteria

  • The meeting minutes are issued within one week of the Quality Review meeting
  • The consultant is a PRINCE2™ practitioner
  • Accurate records of the Quality Review are produced

Price

The Quality Review Service takes 4 days (2 for preparation, 1 day for the review, and 1 day for follow-up), which is charged at WPM's standard consultancy rate.
