Project Manager Placement
Purpose
To provide a contract Project Manager to manage one or more projects on the Client's behalf where there is a need for additional capacity or expertise.
Benefits
- Extends the capacity of the project management function without an increase in permanent overhead
- Complements existing skills
- Enables flexible resourcing
- Support from a professional project management organisation - while working on Client sites WPM's Project Managers have back-up and support from WPM's Consultancy Unit; should they encounter unusual project issues or requirements, they will be assisted in determining appropriate solutions
- WPM's project managers aim to blend into the Client organisations so that there is no distinction between WPM and Client Project Managers - our people treat your business with the importance that they treat our own
Method
Project Manager Placements are successful when the right level and type of Project Manager is assigned to match the Client's environment and culture. WPM will capture key requirements relating to the assignment to determine a profile for the type of Project Manager required. Normally, a selection of CVs will be submitted to the Client.
Following successful selection, the WPM Project Manager will start on the date and at the location agreed.
WPM's Project Manager will work under the Client's instruction:
- The Hiring Manager will allocate specific project(s) to the Project Manager
- The Project Board or Sponsor for the project will direct the Project Manager regarding the requirements for the project and the resolution of any issues that would take the project outside of agreed tolerance
At the end of the placement the WPM Project Manager will ensure there is a controlled hand-over of the project (should it still be in progress) and produce an assignment report for the Hiring Manager.
