This 1 day course is designed to help you to obtain the skills required to update records in a database and to use Access to create a simple database.

Microsoft Access Advanced Overview

This 1 day course is designed to help students to obtain the skills required to create a relational database.

Course Objectives

On completion of Microsoft Access Introduction delegates will be able to:

  • Design tables and queries
  • Create forms and reports
  • Use the Database Wizard
  • Create a database manually
  • Import data into Access
  • Filter data
  • Sort and filter records
  • Create Queries
  • Adjust the Dynaset
  • Select Records
  • Create and modify Forms and Reports

On completion of Microsoft Access Advanced delegates will be able to:

  • Customise forms, reports, and Data Access Pages in design view
  • Calculate and summarise data
  • Import and export data in different formats for mail merging, analysis, or reporting
  • Use a relational database
  • Demonstrate the importance of documenting and maintaining database files

Microsoft Access Introduction: The Microsoft Access Introduction course is suitable for beginners who want to grasp the basics of databases and Microsoft Access. The course is aimed at both home and office users.

Microsoft Access Advanced: Designed to build upon the skills acquired in Microsoft Access Introduction, the Microsoft Access Advanced course is for people who need to upgrade their exisiting Access 2000 skills to a level where they can design and manage complex relational databases. Delegates attending this course will need some experience of using basic Access 2000 functions or will need to have attended Microsoft Access Introduction or a similar course.
