1 day course designed to help you obtain the basic skills required to create simple documents using Microsoft Word.

Microsoft Word Intermediate Overview

1 day course designed to help you develop existing skills in Word to create and collaborate on more complex documents.

Microsoft Word Advanced Overview

1 day coursedesigned to help you develop document solutions for longer format document types, such as reports, theses, books or manuals.

Course Objectives

On completion of Microsoft Word Introduction delegates will be able to:

  • Create, edit, format, print, and review short documents such as letters and memos
  • Apply basic page, paragraph, and character formatting options
  • Create a document from a template
  • Insert pictures and clip art
  • Create a simple table

On completion of Microsoft Word Intermediate delegates will be able to:

  • Create documents incorporating various objects, e.g. graphs, pictures and diagrams
  • Save documents in different file formats
  • Apply complex formatting, e.g. sections, columns, and outline numbering
  • Use collaboration tools, e.g. tracking changes and merging documents

On completion of Microsoft Word Advanced delegates will be able to:

  • Use templates, styles and fields to format and cross-reference long documents consistently
  • Use more advanced page layout techniques, allowing you to create documents such as a newsletter or simple magazine
  • Merge documents with a data sources to create mail merge letters and to manage linked objects

Intended Audience

Microsoft Word Introduction: Delegates requiring basic skills in using a word processor to create, format and print simple documents.

Microsoft Word Intermediate: Delegates who need to design and collaborate on documents incorporating data from different sources.

Microsoft Word Advanced: Delegates who need to design complex document solutions and use tools for creating and formatting longer and more complex documents.
