Managing by Projects Training Workshop
Course Description
Delegates explore the distinction between project management and other modes of organising work, as a result of which delegates will be able to decide when a Project organisation is most appropriate. The course teaches delegates how to:
- Identify the Project objective
- Break down the work into small tasks
- Estimate and schedule the work involved
- Acquire techniques to monitor and control the progress of their Projects
The course recognises the critical importance of the people on the Project team in relation to the success or failure of the project. Delegates review their own approach to team management. This is an interactive course with a great deal of participation required from the delegates. A major case study is used to reinforce the concepts being discussed. Alternatively, the delegates' own Projects can be ised as the specific case studies for these sessions. The course lasts for 3 days and includes the following:

Course Objectives
On completion of the course the delegates will be able to:
- Recognise when a project organisation is appropriate
- Identify the success factors associated with a project
- Identify quality requirements and recognise the relevance of ISO9000 standards to projects
- Schedule tasks and incorporate risk analysis and contingency planning into their Projects
- Define an administrative framework to allow them to control their Projects and manage deadlines
- Identify the appropriate team structure for the project and recognise the team building tasks required
- Manage many of the issues that arise during the execution of a project
