Background
Government’s modernisation agenda for public services has long been making complex demands upon local authorities. They are under pressure to enhance service performance by introducing changes to current operational practices and by implementing up-to-date technology to assist these processes.

As a direct result, WPM, in collaboration with Kirklees Metropolitan Council, developed the Simply Projects® Method to address these demands and those of private sector organisations.

Simply Projects®
Based on extensive experience of introducing successful project management into business and local government, WPM has developed a management framework that has proven to be both successful and cost-effective for commercial use. Simply Projects®Sizing Tool

In line with the Method, the Simply Projects®.net Toolbox allows the Type of a project to be assessed. Each project can categorised as:

• Type 1 (small project)
• Type 2 (medium project)
• Type 3 (complex project)

This is determined via a set of criteria applicable to all projects with a score allocated to each. The resultant total score is then compared to pre-determined breakpoints that allocate the project Type. This then creates a template that can be re-used for future similar projects.
