North Tees Success!
After attending one of our NHS Bid Workshops, Pam Gretton, Associate Director of Contracting at North Tees & Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust, invited WPM up to the University Hospital of North Tees to host a Public Event. On the 20th & 21st May delegates from across the North East came to North Tees Hospital to learn the ins and outs of competitive Bidding in the NHS. The 2 day Workshop was delivered by Chris Weatherstone, our NHS Bidding Specialist, and was considered to be an “excellent 2 days”.
The Bid Board Seminar: What is it?
Since delivering our NHS Bid Workshop, many of delegates have spoke of the need for educating their Senior Management in the roles of Bid Sponsor/Executive. In light of this, WPM have created a 1 day Bid Board Seminar for Senior Staff. The idea of the Bid Board is similar to that of a Project Board, making delegated authority within Bids more structured to improve the chance of successful winning Tenders. The seminar is for any senior managers who have executive responsibility for a Bid, those who have strategic commercial input to the Bid Environment or those who will eventually be responsible for delivering the contract. For more information about what this can do for your organisation, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
Simply Projects 2009: New Course
On the 27th & 28th July 2010 WPM held its first ever Public Project Management Workshop using its newly updated Simply Projects® Method. In order to keep in line with PRINCE2® Methodology, the newly revamped version of Simply Projects 2009 contains many of the new changes put into the PRINCE2 2009 syllabus, making it a very attractive alternative for Project Members who do not require the full in-depth training delivered with PRINCE2. The Course, which was held in Victoria, London, was the first of many scheduled for the rest of 2010, for more dates please see our Schedule Page.
Bidding in the NHS: Have you been Trained?
WPM have now been delivering our NHS Bid Workshop for almost a year and
we have already trained almost 100 staff from over 35 different NHS Trusts across the UK. With the recent changes in the economic climate Bidding in the NHS is getting harder every day with stricter procurement rules, private competition and Government legislation all pushing NHS Trusts up against the wall. Although some Trusts are continuing to Bid successfully with their own methods, more and more are looking for a better way to Bid and these Trusts are coming to us. The 2 day Workshop is a great way to quickly learn useable skills and techniques to use in a realistic Bid environment, as well as bringing “a valuable different perspective to it” which for many Trusts is just what they need.
WPM in Hull & East Yorkshire NHS Trust
Many people balk at the idea of an On-Site course, what with the cost, the time, who can be available? Well in many respects that’s true, but really, isn’t that all the negatives? There are so many benefits to be gained from On-Site training, and in July this year the staff of Castle Hill Hospital realised a few. On the 21st & 22nd July WPM visited Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham to deliver an On-Site NHS Bid Workshop for 14 delegates, including 2 Deputy Directors of the Trust: Chris O’Neill and Stephen Evans. At the end of the 2 days, the course was considered to have gone “above and beyond” the expectations of the staff and when Gaye Hanson, Head of Business Planning, was asked what was of most value, she answered simply: “all of it”.
