PRINCE2 FAQs

1. What is PRINCE2?

PRINCE2 is a method for managing projects, requiring no hardware or software (apart from supporting tools), that uses a consistent and referable framework for a systematic approach to projects in any industry or situation.

2. Why use PRINCE2?

PRINCE2 is a best practise method of project management, meaning that it is internationally recognised for quality and success as a project management process. All firms that use and recognise PRINCE2 practises are able to expect a similar approach from other firms using the method, allowing for business to run smoothly between companies and increasing chances of winning business with prospects affiliated with the PRINCE2 method.

3. What projects work best with PRINCE2?

PRINCE2 has been designed to be generally applied with all types of projects, irrespective of the industry or the size of the project that is being implemented.

4. What is required to attempt a PRINCE2 course?

There are no prerequisites to learning a PRINCE2 course, but a background in project management training is ideal. The PRINCE2 2009 Practitioner, Re-Registration and Project Board Senior Level Awareness Courses require you to have passed the PRINCE2 2009 Foundation Exam, but the Foundation and Introduction courses require no prior experience. For those who would prefer some generic training before attempting a PRINCE2 course, the APMIC is also advisable.

5. Where can I find out more about PRINCE2?
